Wolterton Park in Norfolk is the UK’s most spectacular new holiday rental
Newly restored and a pebble’s throw from Norfolk’s lovely beaches, Wolterton Park will be a holiday to remember.
For the traveller in search of English heritage Norfolk, with its narrow roads and gently undulating countryside stretching towards the sea, is a paradise. “It has great cliffs and chalk downs, a history far older than any written documents, delightful rivers, unique still waters, low-lying fens, captivating towns, a historic roll of famous folk and a group of Saxon, Norman, and medieval churches crammed with beauty,” the journalist Arthur Mee wrote in the Fifties.
There are in fact over 650 medieval churches in the county, the highest concentration anywhere in the world, and that’s before we get to the stately homes. One of the finest of which has recently been restored and opened for the public to rent.
